2) Ағылшын тілінде есту, сөйлеу, оқу, жазу қабілеттерін әрі қарай дамыту, тілге деген сүйіспеншілігін арттыру.

Procedure of the lesson

Good afternnon, everybody! we are happy to see you at our competition. It is devoted to the English-speakinf countries. I’m sure you’ve read a lot of books and get useful information about the countries. This competition will show your knowledge. I wish you success. Be actice, honest, industrios, and helpful and you’ll be sure to win. Our competition consists of 9 levels.

I. «Do you know English-speaking countries?»

You must mention English-speaking countries in turn. Every country you name earns you one point. I give you 3 minutes. You are welcome.

II. «Flags and Capitals»

The next competition is called «Flags and Capitals». I want you to look at the blackboard. You see many flags. the 1st team must put cards with the names of the countries and 2nd taem must put the names of the capitals. Here are two envelopes with cards. Take your envelopes, please.

England — London the
USA — Washington
Scotland — Edinburgh
India — Delhi
Wales — Cardiff
Canada — Ottawa
Ireland — Dublin
Australia — Canberra

III. «A word-game»

Every team gets a card with a long word. You have to make other words from the letters it contains. the letters can be used in any order.

IV. «Riddle Countries»

Guess the name of the countries. Listen to me very attentively.

1. This is one of the largest countries of the world. It is washed by Atlantic ocean in the East and by the Pacific ocean in the West. What is it? (the USA)

2. This country has a very high living standard. People speak many languages there. The main symbol of the flag is a maple leaf. What is it? (Canada)

3. It is country which looks like an island. It is not very big, but it’s very beautiful. It is the country of fog and rain. There are a lot of places of interests. (Great Britain)

4. This country occupies a whole continent. It has strange animals and plants. It is very far fromour country. (Australia)

V. «Make the right choice»

You know it is very important to make the right choice in our life. The right choice of a friend, a university, a job, a colour, a style in music. Now we have questions and you should choose the right answer.
