Good morning, dear boys and girls. Today we have an unusual lesson. Today we will speak about fairy-tales. Also we will speak about an author of the greatest books of our time John Tolkien. But before we start our lesson tell me:

Do you like fairy-tales? And why?

(Because it makes me feel good about my life, I can overcome almost everything)

What are the fairy-tales for?

(They are for children to listen).

What fairy-tales do you know?

(Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, The three little pigs, Cinderella, The Frog Prince, Little Red Riding Hood, etc.)

This is very good. So, to continue our work, let’s divide into two groups. To do that, I need you guys, to pick any card you like. (Vegetables, School supplies). Two groups: 1st — vegetables, 2nd — school supplies. So we are all done. Now please take your seats according to your cards.

John Ronald Reuel Tolkien was born on 3 January 1892 in Bloemfontein in the Orange Free State. He was an English writer, poet, philologist, and university professor who is best known as the author of the classic high-fantasy works «The Hobbit», «The Lord of the Rings», and «The Silmarillion». He was the professor of Old English at the University of Oxford, he also wrote a number of stories, including most famously The Hobbit (1937) and The Lord of the Rings (1954-1955), which are set in a pre-historic era in an invented version of our world which he called by the Middle English name of Middle-earth. This was peopled by Men (and women), Elves, Dwarves, Trolls, Orcs (or Goblins) and of course Hobbits. He has millions of readers worldwide.
