Цели и задачи:
Образовательная: расширение лингвистического кругозора учащихся.
Развивающие: развитие коммуникативных навыков учащихся; развитие творческих способностей; развитие и поддержание интереса к изучению английского языка.
Воспитательные: воспитание умения работать в команде и уважительно относиться друг к другу; воспитание бережного отношения к природу и животным.

- Фонограммы песен и музыкальные заставки
- Записи голосов животных
- Картинки с изображениями животных
- 2 набора фломастеров
- Костюмы для сценок
Ход мероприятия:
I. Good afternoon! I’m glad to see you at our contest «Do you know English?». Two teams are going to compete now. So, let’s start! Meet the first team (music)! Meet the second team (music)! Captains, Introduce your teams, please.
II. And now I would like to introduce our judges….
III. Let’s begin. Our first game is «Warming up». Each should answer my questions in turn: What winter months do you know? Which months is the shortest month of the year? What winter sports do you know? What summer sports do you know?
IV. Fine, and now we have the second game «A Pig in a Poke». There is something in the box. You should guess what it is. You may ask only general questions: «yes», «no» — answers.
V. It’s time to start the third game «Sport game». The teams should write the names of sports on the blackboard. Do it as quickly as you can.
VI. Fine, boys and girls, and now we have the next contest which is called a» «Poetic one». Let us see if know many poems. Each team has prepared poems. Who will be the first one? …. Now it’s your turn…. Please, you are welcome!
VII. And now we have a very funny contest. Listen to «The animals' voices» and guess what animal it is. If you know raise your signal card, please. Let’s begin. Be attentive.
VIII. Now we have another very interesting contest «Good actors». Your hometask was to prepare scenes. Let’s see if you are good actors. The first team, you are welcome. Thank you. Now it’s your turn to come up to the blackboard.
IX. Fine, and now we have the game with the fans. Let us see if you are good at making up sentences. Two pupils come up to the table and take cards. You have one minute to make up sentences and put them on the blackboard. Ready, steady, go.
X. Our next contest is «Magic colours». We’d like to know, if you know the names of colours. The task is to colour the clouds on the sheets of paper.
XI. Game with the fans «Do you know riddles». Take the flower, read the riddle and guess what it is. The first flower please, next….
XII. The results of the competition. So, dear jury, we are looking forward to our final score. Both teams have tried to do their best to win. You are really very clever and talented! I hope you will improve your English knowledge! Thank you)))
