The Department of General Linguistics and European Languages ​​of the Faculty of Philology is one of the unique departments of the university which makes every effort to realize this mission. The department prepares competitive specialists in the areas of «Linguistics» and «Foreign language: two foreign languages» in accordance with the modern requirements, closely cooperates with the world’s leading universities and carries out international relations at a high level. Undergraduates and doctoral students of the department study at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands, the University of Paris in France, Columbia University in Washington, USA, the Library of Congress and the Joint National Committee on Languages ​​- National Council of Languages ​​and International Studies, the universities of Barcelona, ​​Granada and La Coruña, at the universities Humboldt and Goethe, as well as in many universities in Canada, Korea, Hungary, Slovakia, The Czech Republic, Turkey and Russia. Scientific trips are carried out at the expense of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KazNU or foreign partner universities.
